Bio

Omar is a computer scientist by training but he discovered early on in his career that he's more of a people’s person than a machine's person. He ventured into the social good space in 2012, launching a social enterprise that provided affordable STEM education and workforce development programming in the Middle East. Notably, he organized the first-ever robotics competition for refugee youth. He moved to Canada at the end of 2019. He has a penchant for workforce development, particularly as it relates to serving refugees and newcomers. As a Project Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Magnet(www.magnet.today), he supported nationwide projects, through partnerships and business development, that seek to improve the employment outcomes for thousands of Canadians.
